For too long, meaningful educational programs have not been within the reach of our most underserved communities. The current economic crisis in the State has only exacerbated the issue. From academic tutoring to service-learning, students want opportunities to learn and achieve. In an effort to provide these opportunities to underserved youth throughout Northern California, the Cesar Chavez Education Institute is joining forces with educators, educational leaders, and education advocates. "We have been working in the Bay Area and Northern California for years," said Julie Rodriguez, CCEI Program Manager and granddaughter of Cesar Chavez. "The Northern California Regional Office is a natural extension of the energy and interest that we've seen from districts, schools, teachers, and of course, students." We know that the future of our state depends on educated, productive members of our communities but it will take all of us working hand-in-hand. Together, Si Se Puede, Yes We Can!
