Islamic Society of East Bay in Fremont cordially invites you to an Iftaar (fast-breaking) meal at your local Mosque. To more than one billion Muslims worldwide, the month of Ramadan is a special time of the year - a time when Muslims around the world take a step back from their daily routines and focus on community, charity, fasting, and prayer.
During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other worldly pleasures from dawn to dusk. This fasting is one of the five basic pillars of Islam, and it serves as both a spiritual and physical cleansing of the mind and body. Muslims focus on improving themselves as human beings, to be a better father, mother, child and friend. They focus on the less fortunate in society by giving charity and helping those in need in any way possible.
We invite you to join us on September 5, at 5:15 p.m., to build bridges of mutual understanding and tolerance for a better community in the Bay Area.
May this season of sharing help reaffirm our spiritual commitment to our families, our communities and our world.
