Artist helps enhance your art

Jan Schafir will be facilitating a critique at the Fremont Art Associations' (FAA) September meeting. Please bring in at least three paintings, completed or not. Schafir will provide helpful ideas on how to proceed or correct any errors. The paintings do not need to be framed; however watercolors look better in mats.
In 1970, Schafir attended lessons at the Asilomar conference center conducted by the late Jade Fon, who hired many master watercolor teachers as part of his staff. She continued taking classes from Jade until his death in 1984. In 1990 she began teaching children in the Arts in the Schools Program sponsored by the Fremont Cultural Arts Council. She has taught many years in Yosemite National Park, and the La Romita School of Art in Italy.
Schafir created Jan's Art Studios as a working studio for herself and four other artists. Artists teach as well as consult other artists at various stages of painting. She teaches on a continuous schedule of painting, drawing and composition. Schafirs' painting can be seen at the Fremont Art Associations' Gallery and at Jan's Art Studios in Fremont.
