Bill Mancebo's player spotlight: Paul Terry
This week we go to Fremont where the spotlight shines on 57-year-old Paul Terry. His sport of choice is cycling and he rides his Trek road bike regularly every week. Staying in top condition is important to Paul and he uses weight training and runs on a regular schedule to achieve this. Paul rides with his club members from Cyclepath out of Pleasanton and says that the club camaraderie makes cycling a much better experience and really looks forward to riding with his pals.
Paul is married with two daughters, both graduates of Washington High School. He's a graduate of Newark High and received a teaching credential in history from UC Irvine. Paul taught 5th grade for a while but soon found that his true passion was doing construction work and now successfully runs his own business, Paul Terry General Contracting.
Building houses is a very enjoyable living for Paul and he includes one of his favorite pastimes with his daily work, that's spending time with his dog Madison. Affectionately known as Maddie, these two are virtually inseparable. Maddie is nine years old and has gone to work with Paul almost every day.
He does watch sports on TV, choosing football, mostly college, and always rooting for Stanford with Maddie by his side. As for snacks, Terry leans toward a Mexican cuisine but will take fish & chips with a good beer over anything else. |
