The Wall Street Journal and Winning Workplaces recently selected Union City-based Finelite, Inc. as one of the top 35 US firms that have built workplaces that foster teamwork, flexibility, and innovation while providing atmospheres that encourage employee loyalty and personal and professional growth.
Winning Workplaces is a non-profit that provides consulting, training and information to help small and midsize organizations create great workplaces.
Small workplaces were defined as independent companies with under $200 million in revenues and fewer than 500 employees. Nominees were drawn from a broad spectrum of industries and included private, non-profit and publicly-held organizations.
The firm's ability to develop strong, long-lasting partnerships with customers, sales representatives, strategic suppliers and employees accounts for its success.
"Finelite works with teams including owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to design and build cost-effective, energy-efficient lighting systems. We also work on building a culture that focuses on customer service, innovation, quality, respect and individual initiative. I am proud that The Wall Street Journal and Winning Workplaces have recognized our efforts in this area and I want to thank our partners who helped make this possible," said founder and CEO Terry Clark.
The company works with architects to make lighting work better for people and to reduce energy consumption. By joining forces with the California Energy Commission and the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency, Finelite has received national awards for its lighting research projects. Research findings, design support, and education programs are available gratis to end users, building owners, architects, and contractors.
