Bless a child with a backpack full of hope and blessings for a bright future. The Family Giving Tree is collecting backpacks filled with school supplies to distribute to low-income children throughout the Bay Area.
Working with 80 social service schools and agencies like Crittenden Middle School and Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, the organization delivers brand new supply-filled backpacks to children enrolled in the Federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program.
This year, the Family Giving Tree aims to collect 15,000 backpacks for low-income students. The backpacks are taken to the warehouse, sorted and distributed to schools serving children in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
"We need backpack donations and companies willing to host the backpack or holiday drive," said Alex Ralston, Marketing and Media liaison for The Family Giving Tree. "This was the second drive in a row for which NVIDIA generously donated their warehouse space to us. Backpacks can also be dropped off at the FGT office."
You can make a contribution online or buy a backpack for a child in need by visiting www.familygivingtree.org.
A humble donation can go far in nurturing an innocent child's life.
