After two outs, Jose Zamora, pinch hitting for left fielder Diego Martinez, rapped a single. Starting center fielder Elijah Castro-Garcia, who was pinch hit for the previous inning by Ritchie Patino, was then re-inserted as a pinch runner.

R.J. Fernandez then pitch hit for right fielder Ralph Gonzales and followed with another single. Fourth pinch hitter of the game for UCN, David Pelayo, batting for first baseman Elijah Delafoose, got a board on an error and was driven home on a single by Patino to give UCN a 6-1 lead after three innings.

Johnathon Sturholm Jr. came on to pitch for ME in the bottom of the fourth and did not allow a hit or a run by UCN the rest of the way. Hitting stars for ME were Figaroa, with a double and a walk, and Remen with two singles. Alex Diaz also added a single.
