Barracudas top Seals in EBSL play
Submitted By Lisa Meagher
Saturday provided the hottest weather we've seen this year and it also created perfect conditions for the swimmers of the Seals Swim Club.
The Seals are off to their best start in 12 years, winning the first three meets of the season and were ready to take on the multi-year East Bay Swim League champions; the Mission Valley Barracudas.
The Seals put up a terrific fight, winning many individual and relay events. But in the end, it was Mission Valley that was victorious, defeating the Seals handily, 577-462.
Even though the Seals were on the losing end of the meet; there were some Seals team records broken.
Caitlin Jorgens (15-18 girls), during the 50 breast stroke, swam a 33.10, breaking her old record of 33.43 set earlier this year; Caitlin also broke the Individual Medley record by swimming it in 106.56, breaking the old record set in 2003 at 106.88
Mathew Lee (11-12 boys), during the 50 Butterfly, swam a 28.81, breaking the old record set in 1990 at 29.25. |
