Springtime weekends are best spent at the local nursery, shopping for succulents and flowering perennials to fill your garden with color and surround yourself with nature's bounty. While you shop for beautiful plants wouldn't it be nice to support your local artists and find some original pieces of art for the home? Here's your chance to do both and enjoy a nice, sunny day with art in the garden.
The Fremont Art Association (FAA) and Regan's Nursery have once again teamed up for "Art in the Garden." On the weekend of June 27 and June 28, twenty-five artists will display and create works of art at the nursery. Talented participants enjoy the lovely garden setting among fountains, greenery and bright blossoms. This event continues to be a perfect venue to spur the creative process and offer the results - drawings, photography, paintings, pottery work and ceramic art - to the public.
Working among a profusion of living color the artists will be accompanied by the live music of local featured musician and artist, Don Cardoza. Artists will provide live demonstrations as well as displays of fiber art, handmade soaps, and lovely garden hats.
Ralph Cooksey-Talbott, chairperson of the FAA digital photography club and a famous photographer in his own right, will feature one hour demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday on how to take the best photographs of flowers. He will also answer questions about photography. Bring your digital camera and meet him at the entrance to the Regan Nursery at 11 a.m. (both days.)
For further information about the weekend, please call Regan's Nursery at (510) 797-3222 or online at the FAA website www.fremontartassociation.org.
