June 24, 2009 > Health Fair scheduled Health Fair scheduled Submitted By Organizing for America Organizing for America, President Barak Obama's local group of volunteers is holding a Health Fair on Saturday June 27 in San Leandro. This local group is committed to support President Barack Obama's health care reform from the grass roots level. In his words: "We will take steps to reform our system by expanding coverage, improving quality, lowering costs, honoring patient choice and holding insurance companies accountable." The group of volunteers from Congressional District 13 (which includes Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Lorenzo, San Leandro and Castro Valley) is sponsoring a Health Fair and Blood Drive with assistance from these local organizations: Blood Centers of the Pacific, Pathways Home Hospice, Alzheimer's Service of the East Bay, Public Health Clearing House, and Alameda Alliance for Health. Free services to be offered to the public include: hearing & vision testing, dental checkups, and blood pressure checks.
