Deconstructing Broadway

Seth Rudetsky returns to the Bay Area in a one-night-only presentation of his hilarious show "Deconstructing Broadway." This is a fundraiser for Stage 1 Theater. Recently dubbed the "Funniest Gay Man in New York" Seth will be sharing his knowledge and antics of what really goes on behind the scenes on Broadway while sharing his own private video and audio collection to show the audience how to deconstruct what's vocally amazing (Patti LuPone in Evita) and what's a vocal travesty (Madonna singing the same material).
Video highlights include the short-lived Brady Bunch, Variety Hour and Cher performing all of the roles in West Side Story. The video and audio clips are the vehicle by which this entertaining humorist delivers his incredibly intelligent and insightful theater and music-related comedy. Seth's enthusiasm for superior vocal talent and his love of theater is infectious and his on-stage delivery of his material never fails to have the entire audience aching from laughter.
As an added bonus, Seth Rudetsky will also be conducting a Vocal and Audition Master Class. This is the class he has been teaching throughout the country. The class promises to be as entertaining as it will be educational, and students can expect to learn the following skills:
* Get the right cut of the song you're auditioning with. Stop singing the wrong 16 bars. * Stop hating the song you're auditioning with. So many people have a signature song that they no longer enjoy singing. Seth helps people learn to love their song.
Plus, students will learn the answers to these questions:
* Where do I look when I audition? * How do I end this song? * What do I think about when I'm singing? * What should I do with my body/hands? * Can I sing this song at an audition for (fill in the blank)?
Come learn to love auditioning. The Master Class will take place on Saturday, June 27. Seth's Master Class will be open to only 24 students. There are a few spots available, but space is extremely limited. Go to www.sethrudetsky.com (click on the "See me live" link) to register.
