Bill Mancebo's player spotlight: Jalen Adair
For the May 13-19 Tri-City Voice, "player spotlight" introduces Jalen Adair. Adair, 7, plays left field for the Dodgers in the Centerville-Niles Little League Farm Division.
Only in his third season tracking down balls in the outfield, Adair shows the experience of a seasoned pro. His hero, Michael Jordan, knows a thing about playing the outfield. In Jordan's brief retirement from the NBA in the mid-90s, he, like Adair, played the outfield for the Chicago White Sox's Double-A affiliate, the Birmingham Barons.
When he finds spare time, Adair looks to ride his bike. And after those cycling workouts, he's been known to chow down on pizza. Adair hails from Fremont and attends Warwick Elementary. He is currently finishing up his second-grade studies and has high aspirations to be a practicing pediatrician. |
