May 6, 2009 > Kids invited to govern Fremont Kids invited to govern Fremont Submitted By David Hembree Fremont 5th graders are invited to enter the Kid City Mayor Contest for the Fremont Festival of the Arts. The winner will preside at opening ceremonies of the festival's YMCA Kid City and will receive a free week of YMCA Summer Day Camp. Sponsored by the YMCA and Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the contest asks students to submit a project by May 29. It may be a 200- to 500-word essay, 17 x 11-inch poster, or 2-minute DVD/video presentation. All entries must complete the sentence: "If I were Mayor, I would make the City of Fremont better by ..."
