The theme for Science Festival 2009 is "A Day of Learning and Adventure for the Curious of All Ages." This biennial event, which dates back to 1974, is an opportunity for young and old to experience the wonders of science. Admission and parking are free.
Enjoy over 50 demonstrations, experiments, hands-on activities, exhibits, lectures and more. Watch a chemistry magic show and observe the sun with a telescope. Other activities include geophysical prospecting, fossil casting, mathematical puzzles, computer simulation, and potpourri of physics. Representatives from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California Academy of Sciences, Chabot Space and Science Center, Sulphur Creek Nature Center and Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District will participate.
