Planning Commission Vacancy

The Newark City Council declared a vacancy on the Newark Planning Commission at their April 9, 2009 City Council meeting. The vacancy was due to a resignation.
The Planning Commission reviews and takes action on certain planning applications and makes recommendations to the City Council on land use issues. The Planning Commission meets on Tuesdays that are scheduled the same week as the City Council meetings - the Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. Planning Commission meetings are held at 7 p.m. in the City Administration Building, 37101 Newark Boulevard, 6th Floor, Newark.
Persons interested in serving on the Planning Commission are invited to apply. Applicants must be a current resident and registered voter of the City of Newark. Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk, 37101 Newark Boulevard, 5th Floor, or by calling (510) 578-4266. Applications must be received in the City Clerk's office by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009.
The person appointed to the Planning Commission will be required to file a Form 700, Statement of Economic Interest with the City Clerk within 30 days of their appointment and complete two hours of ethics training within one year of their appointment. |
