Shelves are bare at LOV

Submitted By Joanne Paletta

Tri-City League of Volunteers (LOV) is turning away people in need; shelves of the emergency food pantry are empty. The generosity of our community is wonderful, especially during holidays, but it is important to remember those in need year-round. Support from LOV is available five days a week. We act as a back-up food source since some other local food pantries are not open full time.

It is very hard to turn away families that are hungry. We are asking the community to come through, as it has so often, and help re-stock our shelves. The next time you shop for your family's weekly food, add a can or two - or other packaged goods - to the shopping cart and please don't forget baby food.

Bring the food to LOV's Community Service Center, 36120 Ruschin Dr., Newark (in the former Ruschin School).

For more information, contact Joanne Paletta, Program Director at (510) 793-5683.
