April 1, 2009 > Auditions for Stage 1 Auditions for Stage 1 Submitted By Belinda Maloney Stage 1 Theatre will be holding auditions for "The New Tony Award Winning Mel Brooks Musical" 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 12th and Monday, April 13th at the Newark Memorial High School Theatre 39375 Cedar Boulevard, Newark. Director Sue Ellen Nelsen asks interested performers to prepare a Broadway tune, (not from the show) and to please bring sheet music in your range for piano, no tapes or CDs. Must be prepared for a short dance routine. Tap shoes if you tap. This "springtime" audition is for Mel Brooks' new musical that we cannot formally announce as of yet All roles are available. Performances run weekends from July 10 thru July 25th Stage 1 is committed to non-traditional casting. There is no pay, and it is a non-equity theatre. No appointments are necessary.
