No Clue changes name to Strikers; captures first victory

Submitted By Blaise Castren

After two losses to open the season, No Clue decided a name change was in order in FC Fremont Girls House League U-15 soccer action played on Saturday, March 21.
Changing names from No Clue to Strikers seemed to do the trick, as the girls snapped a 1-1 tie in the second half, and defeated the Vortez, 2-1.

Sara Hearn had an excellent game in goal for the winners and received standout defensive help from Samantha Malone. During the game, Susana Luna had a shot in the first half and Deeksha Mehta made a nice centering pass in the second half.
Danielle Lemucchi scored the Strikers' first goal, but the Vortez battled back, scoring after an indirect kick. Jenna Wondka scored the deciding goal with a nifty shot after a perfect corner kick by Abby Harrison.
