If your baby was born in the year 2007 or 2008, South Bay Working Moms of 2007/2008 Babies group could be your pick to make friends with other busy working moms.
With kids of the same age group as your child, the playgroup allows children to grow up together and experience life pretty much at the same pace, while bringing the moms closer through shared laughter and challenges.
Same age group kids have similarities in development and behavior so moms can relate to each other's situation and know they are not the only one facing challenges while working hard.
Brandy McGuire felt a need for one such group when, after attending multiple events, she found it difficult to find a playgroup with babies the same age as hers. So she organized her own playgroup in November 2008. Called the South Bay Working Moms of 2007 / 2008 Babies group, the group shares the wonderful experience of parenting with working mothers and their kids.
The group caters to all areas of the South Bay, including San Jose, Milpitas and Santa Clara. The playgroup has seen rapid success so far with 120 members and over 28 meetings so far with its versatile events calendar. Events are scheduled two to five times per month and most of them take place on the weekends.
"Members attempt to schedule events that require little or no money, as we are all budget conscious these days," said McGuire. "Our events tend to take place at different parks and sometimes members' homes depending on the event. Many of the events include the entire family, and occasionally we'll plan events for Mommies or Daddies only."
Along with playdates, the members can chat, ask each other for advice and support one another and the entire content is accessible only to members.
