Farmers market opening

Celebrate the return of the farmers market at the grand opening. Mayor Livengood will participate in the ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m.

More than two dozen producers are expected to be there, providing you with seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, hot foods, flowers, and other delights.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Big Dog & The Bite.

The India Community Center (ICC) farmers' market is organized by Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association. The market is set to run every Sunday all year long from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bill Harlow will be the manager of the ICC farmers' market. "We are excited about the opening of the new Farmers' Market and also for the producers and vendors who will be attending. We hope it will be a successful venture," he said.

Those interested in volunteering for the Farmer's Market should send an email to with "Farmer's Market Volunteer" in the subject line.

"We'd like to thank the India Community Center for hosting the market and the city for their role in the process. Now community members can support local farms by buying their products at the Milpitas ICC Farmers' Market and once again be a locavore," said John Silveira, Director, Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association.
