No Clue drops season opener

Submitted By Blaise Castren

No Clue, a girls U-15 soccer team for FC Fremont House League, lost its spring 2009 opener to the Titans on Saturday, March 7.

The victors scored two quick breakaway goals late in the first half and went on to a 2-0 victory over No Clue.

For the losers, their first really good scoring chance came when Ashley Campbell fed Abby Harrison, who had broken into the clear. However, Harrison's shot on goal went just wide. After the Titans scored their two goals, No Clue outplayed the winners the rest of the way. Ashley Renaud had a direct free kick turned aside.

For No Clue in the second half, goalie Samantha Stephens came up with two big saves to keep the game close. Cindy Tafolla played well on defense for No Clue, as did Deeksha Mehta in midfield.
