March 11, 2009 > Milpitas City Council Milpitas City Council Tuesday, March 3, 2009 Mayor Livengood received a letter on February 11 from the Milpitas Kiwanis requesting community contributions to the Kohl's Cares for Kids Event in August at the Great Mall. In the past, this event was held at Mervyn's and was known as the annual Mervyn's Child Spree. The City has historically contributed $1,500 to this event. City council consented to consider the mayor's request to authorize a donation in the amount of $1,500 to the Milpitas Kiwanis for the Kohl's Cares for Kids Event in August 2009 at the Great Mall. City Council approved fee waiver and in-kind donation of equipment, supplies, and staffing from various city departments for the American Cancer Society's 2009 Relay for Life Event at the Milpitas Sports Center Scheduled on June 19-20, 2009
