March 4, 2009 > Teachers offered mini grants Teachers offered mini grants Submitted By Jean Ficklin Teachers in the Newark Unified School District are invited to apply for mini grants to be used for environmental education. Beta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, the international sorority for educators, is offering the grants in honor of National Women's History Month. The theme this year is "Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet." Deadline to apply is March 27. The chapter is also supporting George Mark House, a women's shelter in San Leandro, and One Child in Fremont.
