Applications being accepted for Union City's 50th Anniversary event
Submitted By Ben Liu
Creative floats, huge helium balloons, horses, classic cars, fire trucks, local sports teams, James Logan High School Marching Band, and many other attractions will fill the streets May 16 for Union City's 50th Anniversary Parade and Car Show. Afterward, treasured cars, trucks, and even motorcycles can be viewed at Kennedy Community Center.
All potential participants are invited to: Attend a free float-building workshop at the Crowne Plaza Hotel February 28, 10 a.m. to noon.
Learn about float design, building and decorative materials, parade day appearance and more.
Submit an application to be in the parade before April 1. Entries are already being accepted.
Show off your wheels at the car show. No vehicle is too old or too new. Space is limited, so register early. Fee is $25 per vehicle, and deadline to pre-register is May 11.
