Moreau Catholic's Boyd is bound for USC

Moreau Catholic's Allita Boyd is bound for greatness. Boyd, a three-sport athlete, signed a letter of intent to compete at the University of Southern California next year.
This comes as no surprise to those who are familiar with her talent.
According to Track and field News' March 2009 issue, Boyd is currently ranked number one in the nation in the triple jump among returning athletes. At last years' California State Championships, she placed second in the triple jump (40'1.5) and third in the long jump(19'04.75) at Cerritos College in Southern California.
The 6-foot-tall Boyd had nearly every major college coach in America calling the "Hayward Hopper's" house. But, she was able to narrow her choices to Texas A&M, LSU and USC before making her final decision.
"It was tough; it wasn't easy," Boyd explained. "I had all my family and friends tell me what they thought."
The talented teen was an All-Conference selection in volleyball and basketball as a freshman and sophomore. She dropped both of them to concentrate on track and field last year.
Initially, the decision to drop the sports was difficult for the All-American candidate. But, Boyd was very happy to sign a scholarship offer with one of the nations' perennial powerhouse collegiate track and field programs in the University of Southern California.
