February 18, 2009 > Seeds set for soccer tournaments Seeds set for soccer tournaments Seeding for the North Coast Section (NCS) Tournament was finalized Sunday afternoon, Feb. 15, by the NCS Committee. Hayward boys (12-6-5) will be representing the Hayward Area Athletic League (HAAL) in the Class 2A bracket as an at-large participant, with the #7 seed. Their Round 1 opponent will be #10-seeded St. Mary's (10-5-3). The game will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m., at St. Mary's High. MVAL champions - Newark Memorial boys (17-1-6) and Washington girls (12-9-3) - will be hoping for a championship in the Class 3A bracket. NMHS gets in as the #5 seed, and will take on #12-seeded College Park (10-10-3) at home on Wednesday night, Feb. 18, at 7.
