He coordinates all of the classes that are in the activity guide, 80% of the classes go through him. "Any special event, any grand opening, I'm going to be there" Flunoy said. Flunoy is currently working on the commissioner's recognition brunch, Memorial Day, Summer Concert Series, Fourth of July, and Movies in the Park. He explained that the Gene Schwab award was conceived as a way for city employees to recognize peers. City employees nominate and vote for their peers for this award every year. Flunoy was notified by the city manager that he was this year's recipient of the Gene Schwab award. There will be a luncheon to recognize Flunoy and commemorate the occasion on Monday, January 26, 12 p.m. at Embassy Suites Hotel, 901 E. Calaveras Blvd., in Milpitas.
