January 14, 2009 > Art Awareness Nights Art Awareness Nights Submitted By Sal Ayala Thursday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., all are invited to an open mic night that showcases live music, comedy, spoken word, dance, photography, paintings and short films at Joe's Corner in Niles (Fremont). Artists are welcome to showcase and sell their artwork. Twenty-five percent of all sales will go to one of five nonprofit organizations. Each artist will be able to choose the organization to which they would like to donate. Every three months new recipient organizations will be chosen. This event is open to all ages in a sober environment. General admission is $3; performing artists $5. Admission includes a raffle ticket for prizes sponsored by 35 Niles merchants.
