The Milpitas Community Concert Band is a musical ensemble supported by the City of Milpitas, for the further development of musical skills and sharing in the joy of music making.
We perform 3 concerts a year in addition to performing at various events around the city, such as the Veterans and Memorial Day, as well as the City's annual holiday tree-lighting celebration.
We perform a wide variety of band literature, from the classics from the time of John Phillip Sousa, to orchestral work for band, and contemporary works for wind band. The band is made up of members of the community, young and old.
We have some high school students as well as some senior citizens who used to play an instrument, and now that they have retired, who have come back to the wonderful world of music.
We are anxious to build up our band. We are looking for anyone who plays flute, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone horn, tuba, or percussion. We welcome musicians of any age, we only ask that they have at least 2 solid years of playing experience (sometime in their lives).
Even if you have not played in years, pick up that old dusty horn from the closet and come share the joy of music making with us.
We invite any musicians who might be interested in joining us to contact us.
We meet on Wednesday nights (7 - 9 p.m.) at the Milpitas Community Center (starting January 21). Our phone number is (408) 586-3231.
