Young Musician, Annie Wu, to perform with Fremont Flute Ensemble

Submitted By Alicia Unis

'Tis the Season of Dances with the Fremont Flute Ensemble!
The Fremont Flute Ensemble (FFE) is a dedicated group of musicians directed by John Shao Jiang Huang, former principal flutist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Established in 2004, FFE is comprised of flute students who play a variety of flutes including the C-flute, alto flute, bass flute, and piccolo. The Fremont Flute Ensemble enjoys working together to grow musically as well as to create friendships with other musicians.

In its 4th annual winter concert, the Fremont Flute Ensemble will play a variety of dances to celebrate the holiday season. Come and listen to the Fremont Flute Ensemble play Smetana's Dance of the Comedians or tap your foot to the lively Rhumba. Enjoy the harmonies of Armenian composer, Khatchaturian, in the classic hit, The Sabre Dance. And finish the evening off with the elegant Blue Danube Waltz by "The Waltz King", Johann Strauss.

The concert will also feature an appearance by young Pleasanton Flautist, Annie Wu. Annie, age 12, has recently performed in Carnegie Hall upon winning a competition sponsored by The American Fine Arts Festival. She will play a concerto for flute by French composer, Cecile Chaminade, who was one of the few female composers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Join Fremont Flute Ensemble in a concert filled with familiar favorites that the entire family will enjoy!
