Chabot wins consolation champs at Cosumnes River Invitational

Chabot College took to the court over the weekend of November 14-16 at Cosumnes River College's invitational tournament; the Gladiators won their final two games of the tournament, but they left with the consolation championship.
Chabot took on Sacramento City College in their first game of the tournament on Friday, Nov. 14. The game was close throughout, but SCC prevailed in the end, winning by five, 69-64.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, Chabot played its second game of the tournament against Solano. The Gladiators bounced back nicely, cruising to an 80-58 victory, and a spot in the consolation game.
Canada College was the Gladiators' opponent in the consolation game on Sunday, Nov. 16. Chabot picked up where they left off on Saturday versus Solano. Suffocating defense limited Canada to 44 points, as Chabot took the consolation championship by 20, 64-44.
Chabot improved its 2008-09 record to 4-2 with its output at the tournament. The Gladiators hope to improve on that record Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., when they take on DeAnza College in Cupertino.
