Senior Resource Forum
By Dustin Findley
Seniors are especially susceptible to financial crimes, and this weekend there will be a faire and forum for seniors to get more information how to be safe from these crimes. The following is a summary of the program of educational presentations, taken from the website.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. A panel will discuss home and auto repair scams. Panel II, as they're listed, will discuss identity theft, internet security and fraud prevention. A speaker will make a presentation called Buyer Beware! Trusts, Annuities and Reverse Mortgages. After lunch, and a raffle, sit down and watch video presentations about recognizing the financial abuse of seniors.
The next presentation is titled Be Wise: Hiring Home Helpers.
The third and final panel will discuss Santa Clara County community resources to combat elder financial abuse.
Admission and parking are free. No registration is required. Free health screenings will be available. Much more information is available at www.seniorforumonline.com.
