November 12, 2008 > Doll and Teddy Bear Show Doll and Teddy Bear Show Submitted By Dorothy Drake The Crossroads Doll & Teddy Bear Show/Sale is a special blend of demonstrations, special events, and an awesome sales floor, and it is coming to the San Jose area on Saturday, November 15. This lighthearted show and sale is for enthusiasts of all ages with dolls, teddy bears, antiques, supplies, & more. Life is serious, but Dolly Weekends are not! No matter what life brings, Doll & Teddy Bear folks have a philosophy of letting go, having fun and giving themselves permission to play. "My doll show philosophy is to create a light-hearted atmosphere where vendors and collectors alike can expand their doll & teddy bear experience. We add value to our shows by developing special events, contests, seminars and demonstrations. At our Holiday Show, we are delighted to include additional education on antique dolls and teddy bears," said Dorothy Drake, president of the Crossroads shows. "Dolls and Teddy bears of special historic interest or rarity will be marked as part of the interactive walking tour of the show" Dorothy continued. The sales floor exhibitors will offer a wide variety of dolls, bears, supplies, miniatures, clothes and accessories: from the finest Antique to the hottest New Release to the carefully Hand Crafted. There will be doll-stringing on-site, and an antique doll & teddy bear self guided highlight tour. For those who don't know: A dolls head, arms and legs are held together with fabric covered elastic. As the elastic ages, it often breaks, so it needs to be re-strung. Tickets are $6 for adults, and children under 5 get in for free. The Crossroads Doll & Teddy Bear show is held in San Jose in February, June and November each year and is dedicated to the art and craft of dolls, teddy bears, and all related items, from Antique to Modern.
