Special basketball games to encourage kids to get involved.

Submitted By Oneika Simpson

Saint Mary's College (SMC) in Moraga and the Hayward Youth Academy (HYA) are sponsoring Diamon Center Nights for three men's basketball games this season with the cooperation of Diamon Simpson, a student-athlete who earned a scholarship to SMC. He is one of the top players in the Bay Area raised in the Hayward area and has a huge following across the world.

The goal is to have as many as 300 kids attend the three games. HYA is looking for individual or corporate sponsors to defray the costs of the tickets, which will be given away for free to deserving Bay Area youth. HYA was founded by Chris Major, former SMC baseball player and Class of '83. This is a great opportunity for corporate exposure and to help a worthwhile cause. The website http://stratsolve.net/Hayward_events.htm has the details of this special promotion.
