Magicians to compete for Bay Area's best
Submitted By Scott Alcalay
The Oakland Magic Circle will present its annual Inter Club-Stage Magic Competition along with a spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. While sitting down for dinner at 7 p.m., club members will amaze the audience with close up wonders performed at their tables.
Stage show begins at 8 p.m. and will feature some of the best conjurers from the Bay Area's many magic clubs. The Bay Area plays host to several independent magic clubs plus both national magical fraternal organizations: The Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Both organizations will be sending representatives to participate at the competition. Many of the performers go on to national magic competitions and professional careers, appearing at conventions and trade shows, society parties, cruise ships and resort spots around the world.
All are welcome to this event held at Bjornson Hall, 2258 MacArthur Blvd. in Oakland. For adults, cost for the show and dinner is $15; $10 for children 12 and under. And while the event usually sells out, remaining "Show only" tickets, if any, will be available for $10 at the door.
