August 27, 2008 > Allied Waste drivers to work on Labor Day Allied Waste drivers to work on Labor Day Submitted By Rhonda Rigenhagen Trash doesn't take a holiday, and neither will Allied Waste drivers. Fremont and Union City customers of Allied Waste should set out their trash, recycling, and green waste containers as usual the week of September 1. Drivers will work their normal schedule on Labor Day, servicing customers and keeping containers from becoming overloaded. Customer Service phones will also be staffed, but the office and Service Center will be closed. Beginning this year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day are the only holidays Allied Waste drivers will take off.
