Water watchdog organization receives grant

Wildfires are raging across the California coasts, and their aftermath will include damaged watersheds and soil erosion, a major cause of flooding. Add to this the recent decision to lift a ban on coastal oil drilling and the disastrous 53,000 gallon oil spill from the Cosco Busan in the San Francisco Bay, and it is clear there is a dire need to fund local water-protection organizations that are the strongest voices advocating for clean water enforcement. California Coast Keeper - a Fremont-based organization - recently received $130,000 from the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund to help keep their voice heard.
