Highlands Summer Theatre Performs "Godspell"

Submitted By Diane Daniel

Godspell will be performed by Highlands Summer Theatre of California State University, East Bay's Department of Theatre and Dance this summer. Highlands Summer Theatre casts students from the throughout the local community.

A new take on "Godspell" will be staged in the University Theatre, in the same building as the Studio Theatre, Aug. 8-9 and 15-16 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 general; $12 youth (3-18), seniors (55+), alumni (with alumni I.D.); and $8 CSUEB students.

Director Darryl V. Jones says, "This version of Stephen Schwartz's "Godspell" will not be your grandmother's. Updated, bold and gritty, this production journeys into the real world of the disenfranchised - the lost children of the streets."
