Friends of Children with Special Needs Holding Summer Basketball Camp
Submitted By Ivy Wu
This year, Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN), an organization dedicated to providing support, friendship, and life skills training to developmentally disabled individuals and their families, is holding its very first 4-week Basketball Summer Camp. Through the support of ClubSport in Fremont, which has generously allowed FCSN the use of its spacious, air-conditioned basketball court free of charge, the organization has been and is still accepting applications from special needs children and adults from all throughout the area to attend this event.
Starting from July 14 and running until August 8, the camp, designed for anyone ages 5 and over, will meet from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Leaders will instruct lessons in passing, dribbling, and shooting, as well as provide hands-on attention and care for all attendees.
Furthermore, as an added benefit for those who attend the basketball sessions, ClubSport is offering swimming opportunities from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. on those days. For $10, children can have a half-hour private swim lesson, or a half-hour of individual practice swim time.
For more information regarding costs, special circumstances, and other FCSN programs, call (510) 739-6900. To register for camp, visit FCSN's website at www.fcsn1996.org/htmlpages/programs_east_bay.html#Basketball_Camp.
Thanks again to ClubSport in Fremont for its kind contribution to our special needs children, and to all of the support from the residents of the tri-city area.
