San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club (SFBACC) will be holding an Open House on Thursday, July 10, at Shark's Ice at Fremont. It is FREE and open to the public of all ages. The Open house starts at 7:30 p.m. and lasts about two hours. Get there early to fill out the paper work and sign-up for summer lessons or to be put on a summer league team if interested.
The lessons are for those new to curling and they will receive U.S. Curling Association certified instruction for this Olympic sport. Curlers interested in league play can enter as an individual, with a friend or two, or as a team. Stick and wheel chair curling also available on request.
For first time curlers, wear loose fitting pants (sweats or track pants, jeans not recommended), warm clothes (ice temperature 24-26 F and 45-60 F above the ice) and sneakers. A hat, gloves and knee pads are optional and warn by some curlers.
