June 18, 2008 > Guitar Ensembles at Mission Pizza Guitar Ensembles at Mission Pizza By Aditya Anand To kick off this year's summer vacation, C&L Music, Inc. will present three guitar ensembles at Mission Pizza, Fremont's home of pizza and bluegrass acts. The Music Guitar Ensemble is a gathering of students who dedicate their time and energy to learn the skills, techniques, and performance practices of guitar ensemble music. Ensembles are under the direction of Joyce Kuo who studied classical music at The Guildhall School of Music in London and currently tours with the popular rock band "My Monster." Each guitar ensemble features a full band of talented young players, including students of piano, bass, and drums. The youngest group has dubbed themselves "The Lucky Seven", and consists of eight and nine year-old musicians. The 12 year-old band "The Blue Berries" and 13 year-old band "Lost Contact" will also hit the stage, with a special headlining performance by "My Monster." This performance will showcase a variety of classical, pop, and rock music, including "Tarrega's Etude in E Minor," "Blue Moon," "Secret Agent Man," and many more.
