Community-Based Health Learning, Unique to You
Submitted By Karen Sindelar
There are so many articles and recommendations out there about how to 'be healthy.' How do you know what to believe? How do you know what to do for YOU and your family to live healthily?
A local working group about sustainable health meets Mondays, including June 16, at the Union City Library from 7 - 8 p.m. At each meeting the group focuses on developing the capacity to critically evaluate health information, health science, and health practices. There is a huge health benefit to our working in the community, obtaining more useful information than going to the doctor or reading about our questions alone.
Examples of topics that may be discussed at some point include: What can you take away as truly healthy options after reading the latest health studies? Given the reality of today's world - busy schedules, technological advancements, and stores and restaurants not seeming to care about the effect on our health - how can you make good decisions for yourself and your family? What about electromagnetic fields and radio frequency radiation? Find out about your own personal sensitivities and what caused them; organic or not?
For more information, call (510) 745-7004. This event is free.
