The 7th grade Sunday School class of Temple Beth Torah, as part of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah charitable efforts, raised over $3,000 for The Nature Conservancy. A representative from that organization visited Temple Beth Torah to thank the students.

As part of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah process, these 7th graders participate in a "tzedakah" project (charitable effort) and selected the Nature Conservancy because of its excellent environmental record. The students sold plants, pizza, water bottles and wrote letters to friends, family and others to donate to the organization. They raised over $3,100 with additional money still coming in. Michael Scott, Donor Relations Manager of The Nature Conservancy, met with the students.
