It was the third and deciding match between The Pack and Rice Krispies, two FC Fremont's Under-14/15 Girls' House League soccer teams. Both teams had won a game after playing each other twice earlier in the regular season. You could feel the excitement in the air and on the soccer field as both teams warmed up to do battle on Thursday, May 8th.
The Pack offense started the game exploding with repeated shots on the Rice Krispies goalkeeper only to be denied until late into the first half of the game. That is when Pack forward, Kendra MacLure caught the Rice Krispies keeper going in the opposite direction and scored on a low roller into the net. The goal would not have been possible if it was not for the super support from Pack offensive players Menaka Shankar, Erica Ohye, Demi Madeiros, Nicole Gronski, Aiman Arif, Roshana Jacob, Ravneet Kaur, Olivia Hanna, and Deeksha Mehta.
The Pack Defense held the one goal lead for most of the second half. However, with less than six minutes left to play in the game, the Rice Krispies offense kicked one high and just over the finger tips of Pack goalie, Jessica McNair, to tie the game at 1-1. The Pack Defense, which included Tiffany Sarchet, Mariya Waheed, Erika Neave, Savina Khangur, Kosha Kumar, Alice Ding and Alicia Shi, should be proud for playing superb soccer for most of the match. A very exciting game between two evenly matched teams ended in a 1-1 tie. Both teams could feel good about a well played game.
