The Pack vs. Chaos

It was a beautiful afternoon at Irvington Community Center Park on Thursday, April 24, perfect weather for a fun game of soccer. You could feel the excitement in the air as both under-15 girls teams warmed up on the field to do battle. The game was between The Pack and Chaos. Both teams had played each other before and knew that either team was able to come away with a victory. The Pack offense, which included Kendra MacLure, Erica Ohye, Deeksha Mehta, Aiman Arif, Nicole Gronski, Roshana Jacob, Olivia Hanna, Menaka Shankar, Mariya Waheed, and Ravneet Kaur, started the game with several shots on goal that were near misses. Chaos also had several shots on The Pack goalkeeper, Jessica McNair, who caught many line drive balls drilled toward her and the net by the Chaos forwards.
The game stayed tied 0-0 at the half due to the heroic efforts by The Pack's defensive players Erika Neave, Savina Khangur, Alice Ding, Alicia Shi, Tiffany Sarchet, and Kosha Kumar. The second half started like the first with many shots turned away by both teams to keep it a scoreless game.
With 10 minutes left in the match, Chaos scored on a rocket shot just out of the reach of The Pack goalie, McNair, and turned out to be the winning goal. It was a well played game by both teams and proved to be a defensive battle that will long be remembered by all who were there to witnesses it. |
