April 23, 2008 > Boy Scout recognized Boy Scout recognized This month, Spencer Holmes of Boy Scout Troop 143 was honored in a formal ceremony at Elk's Lodge 2121 for his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout. Holmes completed the requirements in July of 2006. Holmes' Eagle project consisted of planning and placing flag poles in the baseball fields at Holy Spirit Church for the Cal Ripken Little League. Scouts, family and friends assisted in preparing and painting the flag poles, digging the holes and pouring concrete around the poles. Spencer is the son of Ed and Donna Holmes of Fremont and is a 2007 graduate of Irvington High School. He is now furthering his education at Wyotech in Fremont.
