Trade policy explained - a primer on NAFTA
Submitted By Sister Barbara Larner, O.P
The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose invite anyone who would be interested in an afternoon on the topic of NAFTA, and its implications for Canada, Mexico and the United States. There will be 3 speakers: Carleen Pickard, John Gibler, and Hector Sanchez.
Carleen works with the Council of the Canadians to promote progressive policies on fair trade, clean water, safe food, public health care, and other issues of social and economic concern to Canadians.
John Gibler is an independent jornalist who has been covering Mexico's social movements since early 2006, and is a Global Exchange Human Rights Fellow in Mexico.
Hector Sanchez is the Policy Education Coordinator for Global Exchange's Mexico Program. He represents the Program in Washington, D.C., where he coordinates efforts to inform and organize legislators and key organizations in support of new priorities on trade and immigration.
To reserve a place, please call Sister Katherine Jean at 510 657-2468.
