The South Bay Branch of the California Writers Club (CWC) and the Fremont Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) are co-sponsoring an Open Mic session on Thursday, March 20, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Fremont. We meet near the History/Technology section at the back of the store. You will be given 5 to 10 minutes to read.
If you do not want to read, sit back and have fun listening to others read, have a cup of coffee, etc. An Open Mic session is an opportunity for authors to try out their material before a live audience. We will be holding Open Mic sessions on the third Thursday of each month at this same location.
The Open Mic is free and open to the public with no reservations required.
On Saturday, March 22, the first meeting of a new local writer's group will meet from 2 -4 p.m. at Suju's Coffee and Tea in Fremont. This new club is still in the forming process. If you are a writer (published or not) and would like to participate in this new club, then please feel free to attend our organizing meeting on March 22.
We need your input on what type of club we should be in order to fill the needs of writers from Hayward south to Milpitas. This meeting is free and open to the public.
For more information, call Bob Garfinkle at (510) 489-4779.
