During the month of March, the Visual and Performing Arts (which includes dance, music, theater and visual arts) are being celebrated throughout the Hayward Unified School District. The celebration begins with a gigantic exhibition of student art work. The exhibition," Art IS Education", can be seen from March 5 through March 20 in the Board Room and hallways of the District Office.
The community is invited to a reception for the artists and their families on Wednesday, March 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the District Office.
Other celebrations taking place in March include "Art Night" at Mt Eden High School on March 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The public is invited to visit Mt Eden's Art, Ceramics, Jewelry and Photography classrooms. There will be a variety of hands-on activities for all. The Mt. Eden Choir will be in rehearsal with the Tennyson High School and Hayward High School choirs. You may also visit the Dance Studio and Band Room or participate in improvisational theater in the Drama Room. The Mt Eden Gallery of Art (MEGA) will be exhibiting student photography.
