Senior Citizen Commission focus
America has had a long tradition of separation of church and state; the Fremont Senior Citizen Commission appears to be on a course that is opposite of this tradition. The commission's agenda for the last three meetings have spent a majority of their time on one specific religious organization. The commission even held one of their meetings at Gurdwara Sikh temple on Oct. 19, 2007 which required them to put scarves on their heads and remove their shoes. The commission appears to be pandering to this religious group which is lobbying them to endorse a proposal that will benefit their organization but presents serious safety issues to local residents.
I believe the commission should spend their time on the critical problems of our seniors - food, shelter and medical care - not on one specific organization.
